French Gold Sovereigns!
Mintage dates between 1899-1914.
This is a random year 20 Francs "Rooster" Gold Coin. These are probably restrikes, however there is no way to tell original from modern produced other than the reeded edges (see below). There was nearly 100 million of these made and the restrikes are made from the same type of planchets using the original dies and we do not sort through the bags as we get them.
Coin Highlights:
- Contains .1867 troy ounces of fine gold.
- Circulated condition.
- Front obverse side (heads): The sculpture depicts Marianne, an emblem of Liberty and reason, representing France's revolutionary ideals and national spirit. Also seen are the words "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE" which translates to "French Republic."
- Back reverse side (tails): The reverse side displays the Gallic Rooster, an informal emblem of France and the words "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE," which translates to LIBERTY, EQAULITY & FRATERNITY. Also displayed is 20 FRCS (the monetary value) and mintage date.
- Reeds (edges): Smooth with the inscription of "Dieu protège la France," (God Protect France) if it is an original, or LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE if it's a restrike.
- Authentic gold product from the France.

French Gold Coins - Paris
